InVita Healthcare Technologies Track-Kit Has Been Selected as New Jersey’s Statewide Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System

Survivors of sexual violence in New Jersey will soon have visibility into the status and location of their sexual assault collection kits (SAKs).

InVita Healthcare Technologies, a leading provider of specialized software solutions supporting the advancement of Public Health & Safety and Human Biologics, today announced its Track-Kit™ Sexual Assault Kit (SAK) tracking system has been selected by the State of New Jersey for statewide deployment. Track-Kit is the only complete SAK tracking solution that delivers accountability, transparency, and information-sharing across DNA crime labs, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, and sexual assault survivors.

This initiative follows the passage of legislation (S715/A908), which mandates the establishment of a statewide, web-based sexual assault kit (SAK) tracking system accessible to survivors, law enforcement, laboratory personnel, and healthcare providers. The law requires that survivors be notified of key developments in their case—such as whether a DNA profile was obtained, entered into a database, and matched to other profiles—and expands reporting to include whether evidence has been submitted for forensic analysis. These measures aim to empower survivors with greater control over their information and ensure they are better informed throughout the investigative process.

Track-Kit’s secure, cloud-based platform enables real-time tracking and visibility at every stage of the process—from collection to forensic analysis to final storage. The system connects law enforcement, forensic labs, and medical facilities, while giving survivors access to a secure portal to anonymously monitor the status and location of their kits. With this deployment, New Jersey becomes the 16th state to join the growing Track-Kit network, advancing a comprehensive approach to sexual assault kit tracking reform.

“Every day, public safety professionals and law enforcement agencies strive to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve, and our mission is to build software that helps them do even more,” said Todd Collins, President & CEO of InVita. “We’re honored to support the State of New Jersey in this important initiative and look forward to a successful statewide implementation that strengthens transparency, accountability, and justice for survivors across the state.”

As more states adopt SAK tracking systems like Track-Kit, the number of tested kits and resulting forensic hits continues to rise—spotlighting the growing need to ensure every lead is tracked, investigated and resolved.
