A successful go-live was completed earlier this year following close collaboration by both organizations to equip LifeSource with a turn-key and comprehensive solution to enhance their life-saving day-to-day operations.
LifeSource, the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) based in Minneapolis, MN, and InVita Healthcare Technologies, a leading provider of specialized software solutions for Human Biologics and Health & Public Safety, are pleased to announce the rollout of the iTransplant® Donor Management software platform.
LifeSource will use iTransplant to support its ongoing mission to save and heal more lives—streamlining every step from referral intake at their 24/7 Donor Services Center, to donor management, organ and tissue procurement and family aftercare—while honoring the generous gifts provided by donors and their loved ones. The launch included an iTransplant instance configured specifically for LifeSource while leveraging iTransplant’s best practice platform and several interoperability solutions such as iReferral® to automate the donor referral process as well as laboratory testing and telepathology interfaces.
As one of the 55 OPOs in the U.S., LifeSource passionately serves the second-largest geographical donor service area, focusing on Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of western Wisconsin. LifeSource is dedicated to saving lives through organ, eye and tissue donation serving 7 million people while inspiring the public to register and support donor families, manage the donation process, transport the gifts to the transplant center and lead the communities towards a culture of donation.
“LifeSource is relentlessly pursuing a day where no one dies waiting for a lifesaving transplant,” said Steph Davis, LifeSource Chief Operations Officer. “Having the best software and technology, like the iTransplant Donor Management software platform, is essential to helping us achieve that goal.”
iTransplant is the world’s most-advanced and most-adopted software platform of its kind that facilitates the recovery and transplant of approximately 80 percent of all deceased organ donation in the U.S. and is used by more than 20,000 medical professionals at over 100 leading donation and transplantation agencies around the globe – from the United States and Canada to Ireland and Australia.
“We are so proud to partner with the great team at LifeSource and provide purposeful solutions to support their mission-critical work,” said Wade Liu, President, Human Biologics for InVita. “We’re looking forward to much continued active collaboration together in our joint mission of saving and healing lives through the miracle of donation and transplantation.”
